Nevadans Count is a coalition of community based organizations dedicated to ensuring that Nevadans, especially hard to count communities like people of color, immigrants, families with children under the age of five, are counted in the 2020 Census.
Nevada is strong because of its diversity, and this needs to be reflected in the census to ensure Nevadans are accurately represented at the local, state, and federal levels. Moreover, Nevadans need a fair and accurate census because the everyday lives of Nevadans depend on it. Census data guide how much money Nevada is allotted for federal programs like Medicaid, Pell Grants, SNAP, WIC, housing assistance, unemployment insurance assistance, and more.
Nevadans Count is committed to ensuring all Nevadans are seen, counted, and heard in this once-a-decade opportunity by conducting outreach, advocacy, and education with hard to count communities and stakeholders throughout the state.
